It was a day of lots of work so a little tired and did not take many photos - my aloe vera made me smile as it is growing now that the winter is starting to go.
Was sick all night, went into work felt awful so Emmet collected me and I got into to bed with my hot water bottle! This is Noodle with my hot water bottle doing her country guinea impression with grass.
The snow finally melted today and we went to the cinema - I keep going to scary films even when I know I do not like them - Day Breakers was not supposed to be that scary.
Benny is back from Singapore (watch out Dublin) and Darren and Owen will be traveling in the next month so it is the last time these four will be out together for a while!! Some sliding and slipping was done in the road, a trip to the BS and then the Horse for a late drink and on to a party in Neil's!
After taking a fall off my bike on the way to work the weather conditions got more severe. Emmet and I took a walk down by the canal (which was frozen solid) and fed the swans. I took about 50 pictures so today was the most difficult to pick just one,I decided on the traffic lights, people thought I was strange taking photos of the lights and I had to work on the timing and get both the red and green while lighting - the reason I like this is the cobwebs on the lights are frozen! I cheated and used my second fave pic as my profile pic!!!
Snow and ice are a constant in January photos so far and not a guinea pig or husband in sight.........watch this space. It was also my brother's 30th today and because of the weather I will not get home this weekend.
Because I was going back to work after the Christmas break I was having trouble getting to sleep and Emmet was restless too, he looked out the window and saw a man falling on the footpath, he kept struggling to get up and kept falling down when he got up again he banged his head. as he fell for the third time We ran downstairs at which point a couple had picked him up. Em called the ambulance and they fixed him up in the back of the ambulance then drove him home!! Better for him than spending a night in A & E.
Francis, Andrew & Emmet started the morning playing Necromunda (this was a game they played in their teens and Francis found a used one in a charity shop for €2.00). I was confused as there was not movement squares but measurement is done by line of sight and measured in inches. We had sausages and lots of cheese (too many gifts of cheese over Christmas).
Not the prettiest picture but, last night there was a fire in the college so I went to investigate - this is also where, fingers crossed, we will get an allotment in the next couple of months. Before visiting St. Kevin's I picked up my bike from the repair shop, it was in getting checked out after my little crash in December!
As the New Year began the snow started - there were no buses on New Year's day so walked in and met Steph in town for some much needed 'getting out of the house' time.
